Kyle Denzel will serve as general manager and lead the establishment of the new Learfield property – Charleston Sports Properties – solely dedicated to representing College of Charleston Athletics.

"We are excited to partner with Learfield to manage corporate sponsorships and multi-media rights for our athletics department," College of Charleston Athletics Director Matt Roberts said. "This is a tremendous opportunity for us to lock arms with an industry leader as we continue to enhance our brand and improve the resources necessary for CofC student-athletes to reach their potential academically and athletically."

An industry leader for more than four decades, Learfield has a deep presence in the college athletics landscape nationwide. It manages the multimedia and sponsorship rights for nearly 130 collegiate institutions, conferences and arenas, and supports athletic departments at all competitive levels as title sponsor of the prestigious Learfield Directors' Cup.

Learfield also provides its collegiate partners access to professional concessions and ticket sales; branding, licensing and trademark consulting; digital and social platform expertise; campus-wide business and sponsorship development; and venue and technology systems through its affiliated companies.

"We're looking forward to working alongside Matt and the entire athletics administration in representing the Cougars in the marketplace," said Learfield President and CEO Greg Brown. "Our objective is to align with the university and sponsors in a way that ultimately enhances the student-athlete experience."

Denzel joined Learfield as a Vice President in March 2014 with more than 20 years of collegiate, professional and corporate sports marketing and sales experience. During his four years as a regional VP, he provided senior oversight to select collegiate relationships within Learfield's West Region structure.

His extensive sports experience prior to Learfield includes working with the rightsholder teams for the University of Virginia and University of Michigan as well as serving as director of NFL sales for the Tennessee Titans Radio Network in Nashville, Tenn.

A graduate of Marquette University, Denzel also was President and Owner of Sports Plus, LLC, a comprehensive sports marketing and sponsorship consultancy. He and his wife, Alicia, have four children and will reside on Daniel Island.
