Tatum Wins Long Jump; Weber, Bussey Shine in Weight at Gamecock Inaugural

Gamecock Inaugural Day 1 Results
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Breanna Tatum took first place in the long jump, and Madeline Weber and Lydia Bussey set PRs in the weight throw to highlight the College of Charleston track and field team's performance on the first day of the Gamecock Inaugural.
Tatum had a jump of 17 feet, 7 ½ inches to top the field with the second-longest mark of her career. Aubree Boyle matched her PR in the long jump at 16-1 ¾,
Weber and Bussey set PRs in the weight for the second time in as many meets this season with Weber finishing seventh on Friday. She had a throw of 45-10 ¾, more than two inches better than her mark at Appalachian State in November, and moved up two spots to sixth in the Cougar record book. Bussey remained ninth in Charleston annals with a throw of 44-5 ¼.
Joining Tatum and Weber with lofty finishes on Friday were Jenny Martin and Tess Masselink. Martin took fourth in the 60 hurdles in a time of 9.20, .05 off her PR, and Masselink was sixth in the 3000, crossing in 10:21.06 to enter the Charleston record book at ninth.
The Gamecock Inaugural concludes on Saturday.
