CHARLESTON, S.C. – In the 2018-19 Colonial Athletic Association opener, the College of Charleston women's basketball team begin conference season with a road trip to UNCW. Tip-off is set for 11:35 a.m. on Friday in Wilmington, N.C., with the game broadcast live on the Seahawks Digital Network.
QUICK HITS
• Tyler Collins was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on Dec. 17.
• Ford was named an Honorable Mention Player of the Week on Dec. 17.
• Collins leads the CAA in assists per game, averaging 5.9.
• Collins has tallied nine or more assists in four of her first 11 collegiate games; tying a school record 12 in her debut.

• Currently on a 5-0 unbeaten run inside Trask Coliseum, the teams are level in the all-time series (12-12) with both winning on the road last season to split the series.
• Led by senior/junior guards Shrita Parker (18.8 PPG) and Gigi Smith (14.8 PPG), the Seahawks are averaging 64.6 points per game with Parker in the top 100 in a number of different categories including p.p.g, steals per game, free throws made and field goal attempts.
BACK IN THE GROOVE
• Darien Huff hit double scoring digits against George Mason to register double-digit scoring in 10 of the Cougars 11 games this season.
• Huff has also converted from beyond the arc at least once in every game this season; her streak is at 17 games dating back to Feb. 18, 2018.
THAT FRESHMAN COLLINS
• As we hit the first game of the conference season, freshman point guard Tyler Collins has immediately made an impact for The College through the opening 11 games.
• Collins leads the CAA in assists (65) and assists per game (5.9), ranking her 39th and 19th in the entire NCAA.
• In her first game as a Cougar the freshman tied the single-game assist record of 12 set in 1999.
• Collins also accounts for 40% of the Cougars 162 assists, roughly pertaining to 301 of the teams 751 points.
• Her own 106 points this season brings that number up to 407 points, good for over 50% of the teams scoring through the season so far.
LEADING THE PACK
• Through the opening 11 games of the season the College of Charleston lead the Colonial Athletic Association in a number of team categories with Darien Huff and Tyler Collins ranking nationally.
• As a team The College lead the CAA in scoring offense (68.3 per game for 130th in the NCAA) and are third in three-point field-goal percentage (36.7% for 36th in the NCAA).
• Collins leads the CAA in assists (65 for 39th in the NCAA) and assists per game (5.9 for 19th in the NCAA) while Huff is second in the conference in three-point field-goal percentage and free-throw percentage.
• The senior is converting at 42.9% from deep (49th in the NCAA) and 83.8% from the charity stripe (69th in the NCAA).
GEORGE MASON LEFTOVERS
• Bri Sullivan tied her career high 10 rebounds, hitting double figures for the second time this season.
• Madison Taylor set a new career high with 7 rebounds.
• A 14% opening quarter killed Charleston with the other three quarters combined seeing GMU with a point advantage (49-48).
• The Cougars missed all 7 three-point efforts in the first half.
