Five Blue Ribbons and Team Win On Day One For Cougars at USC IHSA Show Doubleheader

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – In its doubleheader weekend at the South Carolina IHSA Show, the College of Charleston equestrian team won five blue ribbons over the course of two days of competition at Three Fox Farm.

On Day One, the Cougars turned in a first-place team finish behind sophomore Kate Coffey (Westford, Mass.), who competed in both the Open Flat and Open Fences classes on Saturday. She was the reserve high-point champion.

Senior Molly Coyle (Davidsonville, Md.), senior Samantha Bledsoe (St. Charles, Ill.) and sophomore Morgan Hazeltine (Hingham, Mass.) also contributed to the team score with blue-ribbon rides in Intermediate Flat, Limit Flat and Pre-Novice Flat respectively.

On Day Two, senior Gabrielle Bernier (Parkton, Md.) and Bledsoe finished 1-2 in the Limit Flat class on Sunday.

CofC will compete in another doubleheader this coming weekend at the Lander University Horse Show co-hosted by Lander and Clemson on Oct. 19-20 in Greenwood, S.C.
