Coyle Leads Cougars To Reserve-Champion Finish On The Final Day of The Lander Horse Show

GREENWOOD, S.C. – Senior Molly Coyle (Davidsonville, Md.) led the College of Charleston equestrian team to a reserve-champion finish on the final day of the Lander University Horse Show.

Coyle won blue ribbons in both the Intermediate Fences and Intermediate Flat classes to earn reserve high-point rider honors on Day Two against regional foes.

Sophomores Jennifer Haines (Millstone, N.J.) and Kendra de Graaf (Fort Mill, S.C.) were also class winners in the Limit Flat competition, while freshman Emma Avent (Arlington, Va.) had a blue-ribbon ride in Intermediate Fences.

The Cougars finished strong on Sunday, after placing fourth overall on Saturday behind second-place finishes on Day One of the doubleheader from senior Gabrielle Bernier (Parkton, Md.) in Open Fences, sophomore Winter Hein (Buffalo, N.Y.) in Limit Flat, junior Cassidy Hyatt (Colorado Springs, Colo.) in Novice Flat and junior Brooke Hayes (Harwich, Mass.) in Introductory Flat.

CofC will close out its fall competition season with the College of Charleston Show on Saturday, Nov. 23 at White Horses Board and Training Facility in Huger, S.C.
