CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's golf team returns to action this week at the Crooked Stick Invitational co-hosted by Purdue and Indiana on Oct. 14-15 at the Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.
The par-72 course will play at a distance of 7,290 yards. The Cougars are making their first all-time appearance in the tournament. The field also includes Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Marquette, UNCG, Cincinnati and Ball State.
CofC will start senior Logan Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.), senior Hunter Dunagan (Augusta, Ga.), junior Patrick Golden (Murrells Inlet, S.C.) and senior Michael Sass (Louisville, Ky.). Making his collegiate debut at the tournament is freshman Luke Hackworth (Charlotte, N.C.).
"The Crooked Stick Invitational will be one of the biggest tests of the year for our program," CofC Head Coach Mitch Krywulycz said. "We are excited to continue to push ourselves against another quality field on a course that has hosted numerous PGA TOUR and major championships. In the lead up to this event, our guys did a great job of competing against each other. It showed in how difficult it was to pick our traveling team."
The tournament will be played over the course of two days with 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 holes on Tuesday.
The Cougars will be paired with Ohio State and Marquette in the opening round and tee-off tomorrow at 9 a.m. (ET). Live tournament scoring will be available at: www.Golfstat.com
