Cougars Finish Third at Truxtun Umsted Coed Showcase Semifinals

ANNAPOLIS, Md. --- Junior Jack Brown skippered the Cougars to a second-place performance in B-Division to lead College of Charleston to a third-place finish at the Truxtun Umsted Coed Showcase Semifinals on Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, Md.

The Cougars finished the regatta in third with 203 points behind first-place Navy (183) and second-place Georgetown (199). Brown skippered Charleston to 91 points in B-Division with a crew rotation of Katie Lounsbury, Hunter Skinner and Noelle Owens. He and his crew collected 12 top-five finishes in the 18-race regatta including wins in races two and 15.

Senior skipper Steven Leuck guided the College to 120 points and a fifth-place performance in A-Division with crews Owens and Lounsbury splitting time on the gunwale. Leuck and his crew ended the regatta with nine top-five finishes including a victory in the final race.

The Cougars are back on the water next weekend when they return to Annapolis, Md. for the Women's Showcase Finals on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13.
