
Fifth Top 10-Finish Of Season For Sowell at Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – College of Charleston junior Logan Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.) was the men's golf team's top finisher shooting 2-under par at The Schenkel Invitational hosted by Georgia Southern at the par-72 Forest Heights Country Club on Sunday.
Sowell tied for 10th carding rounds of 68, 71 and 75 to turn in his fifth Top 10-finish of the season. Junior Jake Budde (Austin, Texas), who competed as an individual, tied for 13th with rounds of 74, 70 and 71 (-1).
As a team, the Cougars finished sixth with a three-round score of 868 (+4). Georgia Southern won the team tournament title shooting a 26-under par 838 followed by runner-up ETSU (-13). Notre Dame was third (-3), No. 50-ranked Mississippi State fourth (-2) and Kentucky fifth (+1).
No. 35-ranked Steven Fish of Georgia Southern was the individual medalist with rounds of 70, 67 and 65 for 14-under par for the tournament.
The Cougars will take some time off during spring break and next compete at The Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on March 24-26 at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C.
