
Sowell Top Finisher For Cougars at ECU Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Junior Logan Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.) was the College of Charleston's top finisher in the team's spring season opener at the ECU Intercollegiate held at the par-72 Brook Valley Country Club.
Sowell finished in a seven-way tie for seventh shooting 5-over par for the tournament with rounds of 76, 74 and team-low 71. He eagled the par-5 6th on Tuesday.
Sophomore Raphael Geissler (Karlsruhe, Germany) turned in a Top 25 finish as he tied for 21st with a three-round score of 226 (+10). He led the field in par-3 scoring (2.75 avg.). The average score for the week was 76.77 showing the difficulty of the course at the 54-hole tournament.
Host ECU won the team title with an 880 (+16) followed by runner-up and No. 42-ranked Campbell (+18). Jacksonville and Western Kentucky tied for third (+22), James Madison was fifth (+40), Gardner-Webb sixth (+45), No. 46 College of Charleston seventh (+46), Francis Marion eighth (+58), Troy ninth (+61), Delaware 10th (+66), Presbyterian 11th (+71) and Navy 12th (+81).
The Cougars will next compete at The Schenkel hosted by Georgia Southern on March 15-17 at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.
