
Cougars To Face Competitive Field at Florida Gators Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's golf team will face a competitive field with four Top 25-ranked teams at the Florida Gators Invitational hosted by the University of Florida on March 9-10 at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
The par-70 course will play at a distance of 6,701 yards, which has served as Florida's home course since the 1960s and has been the home to the Gator Invitational since 1978. CofC is joined in the field by Campbell, Clemson, Daytona State, East Carolina, FIU, host Florida, Miami (Fla.), NC State, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and UCF.
The Gators are the highest-ranked team in the field at No. 8 followed by No. 19 FSU, No. 20 Clemson and No. 24 Miami. CofC is currently No. 55 in the latest Golfstat.com rankings.
The Cougars will start junior Anna-Theresa Rottluff (Dusseldorf, Germany), senior Isi Nilsson (Santiago, Chile), sophomore Clarissa von Stosch (Kassel, Germany), junior Victoria Huskey (Greenville, S.C.) and sophomore Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, S.C.). Junior Savanah Goodman (Easley, S.C.) and sophomore Olivia Hamilton (Oakenshaw, England) will compete as individuals.
"We look forward to competing against some of the best teams in the country this week," CofC Head Coach Jamie Futrell said. "I feel like we are close to putting it all back together this spring. We will need to be at our best, if we are to have a good finish."
The tournament format is 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds over two days. The first two rounds will be played on Saturday with an 8:15 a.m. (ET) shotgun start with continuous play into the second round at approximately 1:00 p.m. (ET). Sunday's final round will begin with a shotgun at 9 a.m. (ET).
