
Sass and Sowell Earn Spot On All-Tournament Team, Cougars Finish Runner-Up at CAA Championship

PINEHURST, N.C. – Juniors Michael Sass (Louisville, Ky.) and Logan Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.) both earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team as the College of Charleston men's golf team finished runner-up at the 2019 Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golf Championship held at the Pinehurst Resort's No. 8 course.
Sass was the Cougars' top finisher carding a three-round score of 215 with rounds of 68, 72 and 75 (+2). He tied for second after a four-man playoff that crowned Segunda Oliva Pinto of UNCW as this year's individual medalist.
Sowell finished in a four-way tie for fifth at 4-over par with rounds of 71, 76 and 70. He birdied the 3rd, 6th and 14th holes to shot 1-under on the final day of tournament play.
UNCW won the team title for the second-straight year with a 54-hole total of 867 (+15). CofC was runner-up (+21), James Madison third (+27), Elon fourth (+31), Delaware fifth (+40), Drexel sixth (+42), William & Mary seventh (+48), Towson eighth (+61) and Hofstra ninth (+83).
