CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Women's Basketball has announced its non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

The Cougars will usher in the Robin Harmony Era by playing host to George Mason on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at TD Arena.

Following the home opener, CofC will take on Wake Forest and High Point on Nov. 8 and Nov. 10 respectively in a two-game road stint.

Coker and North Carolina Central will visit TD Arena on Nov. 12 and Nov. 15, followed by a three-game road stint up-and-down the Carolinas against South Carolina State, Presbyterian and Winthrop.

The College will round out its non-conference schedule with a home matchup against UNCG on Dec. 16, a 17-mile road trip to Charleston Southern on Dec. 20 and will finish it off with a home matchup against Western Carolina on Dec. 30.

In the midst of her first season at CofC, Harmony believes non-conference play is important for the development of her team.

"The most important thing is that the non-conference schedule is competitive and it's going to prepare us for conference play," she said. "That's what we're most excited about. That way we can see where we are and we can get ready for January and February play. That's really what we're trying to do, to see where this team's at and get them to compete."

The CAA portion of the schedule will be released at a later date.

The Cougars return all but two players from last season including three starters – senior Deja Ford, sophomore Arynn Eady and sophomore Tyler Collins. Ford averaged 12.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last season, finishing second on the team in both categories. Collins led the team in assists with 131 and averaging 4.4 per game, while Eady finished third on the team with 7.1 points per game last year.

The 2018 Southland Conference Coach of the Year, Harmony had great success in terms of attendance at Lamar University. She is optimistic and hopeful that she can do the same at The College.

"We play an up-tempo game," she said. "We are going to press for 40 minutes. We're going to really try to push the ball offensively. If the fans come and watch us, they'll like what they see and they'll come back."
