Cougars Drop Five-Set Nail-Biter to Bears

LARAMIE, Wyo. --- Sylvia Duggan and Tori Carpenter both narrowly missed a double-double, and Mandy Napierala and Logan Manusky each established a new career-high as the College of Charleston volleyball team fell to Northern Colorado in a five-set nail-biter on Friday afternoon at the UniWyo Invite.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams traded set victories throughout the match with Northern Colorado winning the first, third and fifth frames to outlast the Cougars. Northern Colorado won the match by scores of 25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 19-25 and 16-14. The Bears accumulated 59 kills and held Charleston to a hitting percentage of .092. The Cougars won the battle at the net with 14 blocks to the Bears' five.
COUGAR OF THE MATCH
Napierala paced the Cougars with a match- and career-high 15 kills – including six in the fourth set – to go along with five blocks, one ace and a .263 hitting percentage.
