HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elon started the game off hot going on a 13-0 run, knocking down three triples in the process.
- CofC went on its own run of 8-0 to cut the Phoenix lead to just five points, sparked by a Ford three pointer, consecutive Latrice Perkins buckets and an Arynn Eady layup.
- Williams attempted to give the Cougars life as she knocked down a mid-range jumper at the 8:39 mark of the second quarter, but the Phoenix answered back with an 8-2 run.
- CofC fought hard at the end of the second quarter but Elon finished the half strong and led by 20 points.
- The College scored a total of six points in the third quarter, giving Elon a lead of 34 points at the end of the quarter.
- Elon held CofC to just 12 points in the fourth quarter.
