
Cougars Conclude Challenging Weekend on the Road

ST. MARY'S, Md. --- The College of Charleston sailing team endured challenging conditions and fierce competition at the Women's ACC Semifinals and the Danmark Trophy over the weekend finishing 13th and 20th, respectively, on Saturday and Sunday.
The Cougars placed 13th at the Women's ACC Semifinals with 277 points from 13 rotations. Senior Kiera O'Reardon skippered Charleston to 10th in A-Division with 129 points alongside junior crew Roxanne Snyder. Sophomore Grace Squires (races 1-9) and Fredrikke Foss (races 10-13) teamed with sophomore crew Chloe Hudgins to place 11th in B-Division with 148 points.
Charleston finished 20th at the Danmark Trophy with 368 points from 12 rotations. Senior skipper Pierce Ornstein and junior crew Noelle Owen accumulated 209 points in A-Division while junior crew Anna Sherry partnered with skippers sophomore Max Anker (races 1-4, 9-10) and junior Jack Howard (races 5-8, 11-12) for 159 points in B-Division.
The Cougars will return to the water next weekend with three regattas on the schedule. Charleston's offshore team will travel to Larchmont, N.Y. for the Larchmont Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta on Friday, October 8 through Sunday, October 10. The dinghy team will compete in two regattas at North Points #5 on Saturday in Clemson, S.C. and the Coed ACC Semifinals on Saturday and Sunday in Branford, Conn.
