Charleston Falls to Towson in Five-Set Battle

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston volleyball team fell to Colonial Athletic Association rival Towson in a tightly contested five-set battle on Saturday afternoon in TD Arena after the Tigers rallied from a 2-0 deficit to complete the reverse sweep.
Towson (17-2, 5-2 CAA) won the match by scores of 13-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-14 and 15-5. Charleston (10-8,3-4 CAA) held the Tigers to 17 kills over the opening two frames as both teams finished the match with 49 kills. Towson accumulated 16 blocks compared to 11 for the Cougars as the Tigers out-hit Charleston by a .171 to .107 margin.
Critical Point
With Towson leading 21-19 in the third set, the Tigers' Fay Bakodimou was credited with back-to-back kills to give her team a four-point lead. Towson would go on to win the set, 25-23, to send the match to a fourth frame.
