
Charleston Returns Home to Host Agnes Scott on Wednesday

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team (5-3, 0-0) will host the Agnes Scott Scotties (0-8, 0-3) on Wednesday night at TD Arena. The game will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. and will be live streamed on FloSports.

- The Cougars are coming off a big road win, a 75-68 grit-it-out victory at UNCG. The win improved the Cougars to 4-0 on the road, making CofC one of nine teams in the country with a 4-0 or better mark as visitors
- Arynn Eady was sensational in the win over UNCG. The senior played 40 minutes and scored 14 points (7-of-8 shooting), grabbed eight rebounds, blocked a career-high seven shots, and also had five steals and a couple assists
- Junior guard Jenna Annecchiarico - who finished with 18 points and seven assists - hit a clutch three-pointer that effectively iced the game in the final minute
- Charleston has established itself as one of the nation's best when it comes to creating chaos on defense. The Cougars rank fourth nationally in turnover margin (9.25) and ninth in steals per game (13.6)
- CofC forces 23.4 turnovers per game and has forced at least 11 steals in each contest
- The Cougars have produced 19 steals on two separate occasions and have forced 20 or more turnovers in all but a couple contests this season
- According to HerHoopStats.com, Charleston averages 77.6 possessions per 40 minutes. That number represents the 18th fastest pace in the country
- That pace is the fastest pace a CofC women's basketball team has played at since HerHoopStats.com began collecting data in 2009
- The Cougars rank 26th in scoring offense at 78.8 points per game and 21st with 15.8 offensive rebounds per contest
- Jenna Annecchiarico ranks fifth nationally with 3.88 steals per game. That number is the best in the CAA
- Offesnively, Annecchiarico has posted 6.2 assists per game - good for eighth in the country and second in the CAA
- Additionally, Annecchiarico has the nation's 31st best free throw percentage (89.3%), a clip that tops the CAA. Her 16.1 PPG ranks fourth in the conference
- Elsewhere, Arynn Eady's 2.62 blocks per game and 2.75 steals per contest ranks 16th and 37th in the nation, respectively
- Grace Abercrombie is fourth in the CAA with 1.88 made threes per game
- As of 12/13, CofC is ranked 180th in the NET rankings. The Cougars have risen 28 spots since their initial ranking of 208 on 12/5
- Agnes Scott - a D3 program from the USA South conference - is 0-8 this season
- The Scotties' only other D1 competition this year was Coastal Carolina, a game they lost 117- 25

- The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 18 as the Cougars rtravel to Conway to face Radford in the Coastal Carolina Christmas Classic. The game will tip at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
