CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team (4-3, 0-0) notched its sixth consecutive win over Charleston Southern (0-6, 0-0) on Thursday, defeating the Buccaneers 96-60. It was the fourth straight win for the Cougars inside Buccaneer Fieldhouse.

The Cougars raced out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back. The Cougars eclipsed the 80 point mark for the third time in just seven games this season.

First Half

The Cougars raced out to an 8-0 lead to start the game before CSU got on the board with a three-pointer
The Buccaneers would cut the score to as close as 15-11, but CofC ended the first period on a 10-4 spurt to take a 25-15 lead after the first
Much like the first quarter, Charleston opened the second period on a run. The 12-3 surge by the Cougars extended their lead to 37-18 with 6:55 to go in the first half
CofC would outscore CSU 12-10 for the rest of the period and carry a 49-28 lead into the break
Arynn Eady nearly recorded a triple-double in the first half, racking up 14 points and nine rebounds in the half
Jenna Annecchiarico was the other CofC player in double-figures, as the junior guard had 11 points and five assists at the half

Second Half

Charleston extended its lead to 29 points using a 10-2 start to the third quarter
CofC doubled up the Buccaneers, 66-33, with 3:55 remaining in the third quarter
After three, the Cougars held a 76-44 lead
The Cougars would empty the bench in the final frame en route to a 96-60 final score

The 96 points scored by the Cougars were its most against a DI opponent since matching that number against Wofford in 2005. The CofC DI record is 101
The Cougars shot 36-of-70 (51.4 percent) from the field and 9-of-25 (36 percent) from deep
