
Cougars Coast to 96-60 Win at Charleston Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team (4-3, 0-0) notched its sixth consecutive win over Charleston Southern (0-6, 0-0) on Thursday, defeating the Buccaneers 96-60. It was the fourth straight win for the Cougars inside Buccaneer Fieldhouse.
The Cougars raced out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back. The Cougars eclipsed the 80 point mark for the third time in just seven games this season.
First Half
- The Cougars raced out to an 8-0 lead to start the game before CSU got on the board with a three-pointer
- The Buccaneers would cut the score to as close as 15-11, but CofC ended the first period on a 10-4 spurt to take a 25-15 lead after the first
- Much like the first quarter, Charleston opened the second period on a run. The 12-3 surge by the Cougars extended their lead to 37-18 with 6:55 to go in the first half
- CofC would outscore CSU 12-10 for the rest of the period and carry a 49-28 lead into the break
- Arynn Eady nearly recorded a triple-double in the first half, racking up 14 points and nine rebounds in the half
- Jenna Annecchiarico was the other CofC player in double-figures, as the junior guard had 11 points and five assists at the half
Second Half
- Charleston extended its lead to 29 points using a 10-2 start to the third quarter
- CofC doubled up the Buccaneers, 66-33, with 3:55 remaining in the third quarter
- After three, the Cougars held a 76-44 lead
- The Cougars would empty the bench in the final frame en route to a 96-60 final score

- The 96 points scored by the Cougars were its most against a DI opponent since matching that number against Wofford in 2005. The CofC DI record is 101
- The Cougars shot 36-of-70 (51.4 percent) from the field and 9-of-25 (36 percent) from deep
- CofC held the Bucs to 36.1 percent shooting overall and 23.1 percent from the three-point line

- Jenna Annecchiarico once again led the way for Charleston, dropping 24 points and eight assists in addition to five steals
- Arynn Eady racked up another double-double, scoring 18 points, pulling down 13 rebounds, and adding four steals and a block
- Tyler Collins added 17 points and seven assists
- Anika McGarity pitched in 15 points and six boards
- Grace Abercrombie put in 11 points

- The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 7 as the Cougars head hit the road again to face UNC-Greensboro. The game will tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
