Cougars Claim Fourth Straight Road Victory in 75-68 Win at UNCG

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team (5-3, 0-0) closed out the game in the final minutes to grab a 75-68 road win over UNCG (3-6, 0-0). The Cougars are now 4-0 on the road this season.
First Half
- The game got out to a fast start, with both squads playing at a frenetic pace
- The Spartans led for the almost all of the first quarter, but never by more than five points
- Latrice Perkins scored seven points in the opening period as the Cougars and UNCG were tied at 20-20 after one quarter
- UNCG built a six point lead with 5:57 to play in the second quarter
- CofC went on a 13-6 run to end the half
- At the half, the Cougars led 38-37
- Latrice Perkins scored a game-high 12 points in the first half, while Arynn Eady and Anika McGarity added eight points each
Second Half
- CofC began to pull away in the third quarter, outscoring UNCG 18-12 in the period
- Charleston held the Spartans scoreless from the 6:36 mark until the 2:10 mark of the third quarter
- In the fourth quarter, a 13-4 run by the Spartans tied the game at 64-64 with 2:54 to go in the game
- Prior to the run, CofC had led for the entirety of the second half
- UNCG took its first lead of the game, 66-64, with 2:36 remaining
- Right after the Spartans took the lead, the Cougars took it right back with a 4-0 spurt. The Cougars led 68-66 with 1:46 to play
- With 15 seconds to go in the game, CofC's Jenna Annecchiarico knocked down a dagger three to put the game out of reach for UNCG
- The Cougars would ice the game at the free throw line to close out the road win over the Spartans
