Anastasia Palaska delivered the Cougars' second point with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles.
Clara Errard held on for a 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 win in the sixth flight to level the match at 3-3.
Halli Trinkle battled back from a one-set deficit to force a third-set tiebreaker before falling 3-6, 7-6, 6-7 (4-7) in the decisive flight.
