The Blue Hens won the first two flights in doubles play to take an early 1-0 lead.
Halli Trinkle cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles to even it up at 1-1.
Clara Errard put the Cougars in front for good with a 6-4, 6-3 victory in the sixth flight.
Anastasia Palaska gave Charleston a 3-1 lead with a gritty 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5.
