Opening-Round 64 For Current Leader Baliker at CAA Men's Golf Championship

SAINT HELENA ISLAND, S.C. – College of Charleston graduate senior Christian Baliker (Greenville, S.C.) fired an opening-round 64 and is the current individual leader after Day One at the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golf Championship held on Sunday at Dataw Island Club.
He birdied nine holes including five on the front nine. It marked a career-low round for Baliker, who tied the third-lowest round in program history.
Freshman Zach Reuland (Rock Hill, S.C.) is in second – four shots back of Baliker – after shooting a 4-under 68 including an eagle on the par-5 18th to finish his round.
As a team, CofC shot 12-under par in the first round behind Baliker and Reuland as well as a 1-under 71 from graduate senior Logan Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.). The Cougars, who are the top seed at the eight-team tournament, hold a five-stroke lead over second-place Drexel (-7).
