CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston looks to gain a split of its three-game, season-opening homestand on Thursday when the Cougars welcome Kennesaw State to Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point. Kickoff is at 6:05 p.m.

CofC began the season with a 1-1 tie against Georgia Southern last Thursday before dropping a 3-0 decision to South Carolina on Sunday. Kennesaw State has lost to Charlotte and UAB in its first two games of the year.

Cougars Open Season with Tie and Loss
•   CofC controlled play for most of the evening in a 1-1 draw with Georgia Southern in its opener
•   Natalie Sgro scored her first career goal, and MK Waters had her first career assist
•   The Cougars held a 26-7 advantage in shots and 11-4 in shots on goal
•   Meredith Holton made five saves and Delaney Dawes had a team-high three shots against USC

Holton Climbing Record Book
•   Meredith Holton has eight saves through two games and has 112 in her career
•   Holton has moved up to eighth in school history in that department
•   Next on the list are Melissa Ward with 134 and Seana Patrick with 135
•   Holton ranks eighth in minutes played (2,589) and 10th in GAA (1.60) and save percentage (.709)

Going the Distance
•   Grace Powell, Lauren Reichardt and Lauren Sandidge have played all 200 minutes in two games
•   Olivia Freitas has played 190 minutes and leads the Cougars with 11 shots and five on target

About the Owls
•   Kennesaw State has a pair of one-goal losses, falling to Charlotte, 1-0, and UAB, 2-1
•   Erin Miller scored the Owls' goal against the Blazers
•   Dylan Pixton has made 10 saves and owns a 1.52 goals against average and .769 save percentage
•   KSU went 8-8 last year and advanced to the ASUN championship game before losing to Liberty

Cougars vs. Owls
•   Kennesaw State has won five of six against the Cougars, including a 1-0 decision at home in 2019
•   CofC earned its only win over the Owls in 2015, a 3-1 victory at Patriots Point
