Cougars Wrap Up Homestand Against Kennesaw State

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston looks to gain a split of its three-game, season-opening homestand on Thursday when the Cougars welcome Kennesaw State to Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point. Kickoff is at 6:05 p.m.
CofC began the season with a 1-1 tie against Georgia Southern last Thursday before dropping a 3-0 decision to South Carolina on Sunday. Kennesaw State has lost to Charlotte and UAB in its first two games of the year.

Cougars Open Season with Tie and Loss
• CofC controlled play for most of the evening in a 1-1 draw with Georgia Southern in its opener
• Natalie Sgro scored her first career goal, and MK Waters had her first career assist
• The Cougars held a 26-7 advantage in shots and 11-4 in shots on goal
• Meredith Holton made five saves and Delaney Dawes had a team-high three shots against USC

• Meredith Holton has eight saves through two games and has 112 in her career
• Holton has moved up to eighth in school history in that department
