STORYLINES
- CofC is coming off a thrilling one-point win over William & Mary to snap a 3-game losing skid. Charleston played in its sixth game decided by one possession this season, improving to 4-2 in such contests. Four different Cougars have scored the game-winning bucket in those nailbiters, with John Meeks playing the hero on Tuesday night.
- Charleston is 6-3 in games decided by five or fewer points this season. The Cougars have played in nine straight games decided by single digits.
- CofC continues its current homestand Thursday after improving to 7-3 at TD Arena with the win over the Tribe. The Cougars play Hofstra for the 15th time in their program histories with the series deadlocked at 7-7.
- Charleston has won five of the last eight matchups in the series with the Pride. CofC is 5-2 all-time at TD Arena against Hofstra.
- Reyne Smith continued his historic freshman campaign, lighting up William & Mary to the tune of a career-high 25 points on six threes. He now has four games with 6+ 3s this season, including two in a row. Only Andrew Goudelock had more in a season since 2010, tallying five such games during the 2010-11 campaign.
- Smith already has 56 3-pointers this season, which is 17 shy of tying Goudelock's all-time CofC freshmen record for triples in a campaign with 73. Smith is the reigning CAA Rookie of the Week, after earning his CAA-best fifth such honor on Monday, Jan. 24.
- Junior center Charles Lampten came alive defensively on Tuesday, racking up a season-high five blocks, the most by a Cougar since Adjehi Baru in 2013.
- Charleston is leading the CAA and ranking sixth nationally with 42.06 rebounds per game after snagging 48 more in Tuesday's win. That is on pace to be the best rebounding season for the Cougars since CofC became a Division I program and the fourth-best team rebounding average during a season in program history.
- The Cougars are averaging an eye-popping 47 boards per game over the last three games. CofC hasn't been outrebounded since Dec. 12.
- Since returning from injury, John Meeks is averaging 17.8 points per game after lifting CofC to a win on Tuesday. In that 6-game stretch, he's shooting 50.7 percent from the floor and has scored in double figures in every game.
