10/11/2022 5:31:00 PM

JONESBOROUGH, TN. - College of Charleston sophomore Kieron van Wyk posted two free bogey free rounds at the Bank of Tennessee Invitational to earn co-medalist honors with a 13-under tournament.

van Wyk had a 6-under final round six birdies, including two on back-to-back holes at 15 and 16. He shares the medalist honor with Missouri's Jack Lundin.

"It was a tremendous final round by Kieron. He has worked extremely hard this fall to get his game to this level," said head coach Mitch Krywulycz. "His maturity and patience really came to the fore today on a golf course that doesn't allow for mistakes."

The Cougars finished in eighth with a par tournament on the par 72, 7,147 yard course. The program went 5-over in the final round.

Tim Bertenbreiter had a 3-over final round for a 1-under tournament at T-23. He was followed by Max Dupree with a matching 3-over round for a 5-over tournament at T-50. Kyle Bachkosky was T-74 followed by Sebastian Nielsen at T-85.

CofC returns for their final fall tournament at the Daniel Island Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern on October 30.
