Cougars to Conclude Non-Conference Play at Coastal Carolina

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team will conclude non-conference play on the road Monday at Coastal Carolina. The Cougars are looking for their 11th straight victory before beginning CAA competition. 

STORYLINES
  • The Charleston Cougars enter tonight's contest on a ten-game win streak, most recently taking down Stetson 65-60 on Wednesday evening in Charleston.
  • The Cougars currently rank 57 in the NCAA Division I NET rankings (as of 12/14) with one Quad 1 victory over Kent State and have matched their best start since 2011-2012 when the program was also 11-1 to start the season. A victory on Monday would be the program's best start since joining the NCAA in 1991. 
  • This will be the 41st all-time meeting between Charleston and Coastal Carolina. The Cougars hold the 31-9 series edge having won the last three. The Cougars are 18-1 at home in the matchup and 12-8 on the road in Conway.
  • The programs last met on December 21, 2018 when the Cougars won a 73-71 thriller in Charleston.
  • Dalton Bolon (16), Ryan Larson (14) and Pat Robinson III (12) all scored in double figures for CofC in the Stetson win as the Cougars knocked down at least 10 3-pointers for the sixth time this season. Ante Brzovic grabbed nine rebounds as Jaylon Scott dished out five assists.
  • CollegeInsider.com has the Cougars at No. 2 in the latest Mid Major Top 25 poll behind Gonzaga, while Charleston is receiving votes in the AP Top 25 Poll (64). The last time the Cougars were ranked in the AP Toll 25 poll was 12/9/02. Andy Katz has Charleston at #36 in the Power 36 rankings published by the NCAA.
  • CofC leads the CAA in scoring offense (79.9 ppg), 3-Point FGs made (9.7 pg), combined team rebounds (38.8) and team offensive rebounds (13.5). The Cougars are also ranked eighth in the country in winning percentage (91.7) and are one of ten teams in the country with at least 11 wins this season (as of 12/18).
