
Busy Weekend on the Cards for Cougars

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston sailing team has a busy weekend ahead with four regattas on the schedule including the Charleston Coed Spring Fleet Race on Saturday and Sunday at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Complex.
Charleston will also set sail at the Harbor Cup Offshore regatta on Friday through Sunday in Los Angeles, the St. Mary's Coed Team Race on Saturday and Sunday in St. Mary's, Md. and the Navy Spring Women's Team Race on Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, Md.
The offshore will kick off the weekend's racing at the Harbor Cup in Los Angeles with Caroline Williams at helm, Burke Anvari at primary tactician, Julianna Corso at primary trim, Braden Johnson at secondary trim, Kate Schmiege at pit, Sean Groskoph at squirrel, Evan Chenard at mast, Cade Morris at foredeck and Megan Fetterley at alternate primary.
Charleston is slated to field both a coed and women's team at the Charleston Coed Spring Fleet Race on Saturday and Sunday. Taylor Hasson will skipper A-Division alongside crew Adrianna Lee for the coed team with Charlie McKenzie and Grace Beard representing the Cougars in B-Division. Emma Tallman is scheduled to skipper A-Division for the women's team with Sophia Browne at crew and Leah Cody at heavy. Skipper Emily Alfortish, crew Nina Lubcenco and heavy Julia Jeffries will sail in B-Division.
Pierce Ornstein, Max Anker and Axel Stordahl will skipper for the Cougars at the St. Mary's Team Race with Anna Sherry, Jack Sutton and Noelle Owen at crew. Brandon Geller and Kalea Woodard will make the trip as an extra pair along with heavies Kaelin Stock and Garrett Grenauer.
Fredrikke Foss, Kiera O'Reardon and Grace Squires will skipper for CofC at the Navy Spring Women's Team Race with Roxanne Snyder, Lucy Klempen and Chloe Hudgins at crew. Cara Samson is slated to make the trip to Annapolis as a heavy crew along with extra skipper/heavy Rowan Schanley.
