CofC Men's Golf Set For Regular Season Finale Stitch Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 56 Charleston Men's Golf team wraps up its regular season this weekend at its final tournament before postseason play, the Stitch Intercollegiate. The two-day event hosted by North Carolina State will be played at the Par-72, 7287-yard Lonnie Pool Golf Course in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday and Saturday.
CofC will play 36 holes on Friday followed by 18 final holes on Saturday. On Day 1, the Cougars will compete in pairings alongside Duke and Georgia Southern with groups teeing off beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the final trio at 9:10 a.m. ET.
The 13-team field consists of Air Force, Campbell, College of Charleston, Davidson, Duke, ETSU, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville State, NC State, Nebraska. Notre Dame, Toledo and UNCG. The Cougars finished seventh at the Stitch last spring with current sophomore Zach Reuland finishing T-27 at 3-under par.
CofC is coming off a T-9 team finish at the Hootie at Bulls Bay on March 29. Freshman Nevill Ruiter picked up a T-3 finish and CAA Golfer of the Week honors with a special performance to lead the Cougars. He will once again lead the lineup at the Stitch Intercollegiate.
CofC is looking for a fourth Top-5 team finish this season and a sixth Top-7 performance despite a grueling schedule. Ruiter will be joined by fellow freshman phenom Kieron van Wyk, senior Jack Parrot, sophomore Zach Reuland and Ty Sullivan in the lineup. Van Wyk placed T-33 at The Hootie after winning The Schenkel Invitational on March 20 – his first career tournament win.
