The Cougars are in 11th as a team
TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - The College of Charleston women's golf team is in 11th place with one round remaining at the Tallahassee NCAA Regional. CofC shot a 21-over 309 on Tuesday in Round 2 and is 39-over for the tournament with 18 holes to play. The 10-seeded Cougars are making their ninth NCAA Regional appearance in program history.
Freshman Emma Schimpf still leads the Cougars at T-15 individually after firing a 3-over 75 on Tuesday. She is 5-over for the tournament.
Making her NCAA Regional debut, the rookie needs to finish in the Top 2 among individuals not on the four advancing teams to move on the NCAA Championships. Schimpf is currently two shots back of that cut line if the current four teams at the top of the leaderboard hold true.
Sophomore Smith Knaffle is T-49 at 12-over par for the tournament with one round left. Closely behind are senior Jodee Tindal and freshman Mary Kathryn Talledo at T-51 and 13-over par. Tindal shot a 78 on Tuesday with three birdies and seven pars.
Viktoria Hund moved up four spots on the leaderboard and is T-58 heading into the final day of action. She bounced back from an 83 in Round 1 with a 76 in Round 2, racking up five birdies on Tuesday.
The Cougars wrap up play at the Tallahassee NCAA Regional on Wednesday, teeing off the final round at 8 a.m. ET.
