CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston cross country teams return to the course on Friday at the Firetown Project hosted by Appalachian State.
The race takes place at the Don Kennedy Trails at State Farm in Boone, N.C. The women's 5K run begins at 4 p.m. followed by the men's 8K at 4:45.
The Cougars will be joined in the field by the host Mountaineers, Montreat, UNCG, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, USC Upstate and King.
In Charleston's first race of the season at the Buccaneer Open, Sophia Brown finished third and Jack Wedge was fifth to pace the Cougars. Brown led five Cougar women in the Top 10, and Wedge led his teammates for the sixth time in the past two years.
Wedge enters the first 8K race of the fall ranked sixth in school history at that distance with a time of 25:29:18 at the Pirate Invitational in 2019.
