CHARLESTON, S.C. --- College of Charleston sailing has a light weekend slate ahead with the ACC Women's Final and David Van Cleef Memorial Trophy regatta.
The Cougars qualified for the title race two weeks ago when Emma Tallman, Lucy Klempen, Grace Squires and Clara Murphy led Charleston to a third-place finish at the Naval Academy. Tallman and Klempen won their B Division with 61 points, just three points shy of matching a regatta-best tally.
Their efforts led to the quartet being named SAISA Women's Sailors of the Week, part of a haul that saw eight total Cougars earn recognition on Oct. 5.
This weekend's regatta takes place at the Yale Corinthian Yacht Club with a competition field of 18 teams. Charleston is one of just three SAISA teams to qualify for the ACC Title joined by USF and Tulane. Charleston placed 14th in the Women's ACC Title last season.
Up in Columbia, the Cougars will sail for the David Van Cleef Memorial Trophy on Saturday against a field of 10 teams.
