Women's Golf Holds Steady at Evie Odom Invitational

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The College of Charleston women's golf team maintained their position from the opening round, holding steady at sixth entering the final round of the Evie Odom Invitational.
The Cougars improved their day two total by one stroke with a 288 team total (+17). Charleston currently sits ten strokes behind leader UCF (+7).
Emma Schimpf rose three places to enter the top five of the field with a par round. The junior totaled three birdies on the day and sits just three strokes out of the top spot.
"We gave a couple away coming in but it was another solid day for us," said head coach Jamie Futrell. "It is great to see Emma in the mix to defend her championship and it is great to see us in the mix with a lot of good teams."
Othilie Lied continues to lead the individuals at T8 (+1) while Viktoria Hund jumped nine spots to finish the day at T12. Hund matched Schimpf with three birdies of her own.
The Cougars will tee off the final round tomorrow at 8:50 a.m.
