Charleston Opens Spring Placing Fourth at SCOR

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston sailing placed fourth in the annual Southern Collegiate Offshore Regatta over the weekend with 23 points.
Led by Sims Whalen at driver, the Cougars got off to a strong start placing no lower than third through the first five rotations entering the final tied for the overall lead before finishing fourth. Whalen was joined by a crew of Sam Rosenbaum, Connor Marion, Declan Donovan, Hadley Walsh, Emmi Triplett, John McCarthy and Evan Chenard.
Charleston finished in a three-way tie with Rhode Island and Clemson dropping the head-to-head tie with the Rams and besting the Tigers in a tiebreak. US Coast Guard Academy finished with 17 points to take first followed by Navy with 22 points.
