CHARLESTON, S.C.—The College of Charleston women's tennis team defeated Rhode Island 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the College of Charleston Tennis Center.

Charleston picked up an early 1-0 lead when they took the doubles point with wins on courts one, Slade Coetzee and Halli Trinkle, and two, Ella Faessler and Maja Jekauc.

In singles, the Cougars picked up six wins on courts one, two, three, four, and five. Jekauc and Mckenzie Daniel went into a 10-point tie-break with Jekauc coming out on top.
