CHARLESTON, S.C. – Fresh off a dominant win in the SAISA Spring North Tournament last week on the Wando River, Charleston sailing competes in two races this weekend.
The Cougars host the annual Phebe Cockran Women's Open Team Race Saturday and Sunday looking to keep the momentum going from last week's victory. Charleston placed fifth in the event last season and placed third in the SAISA Fall Women's Championships.
Charleston will have a rotation of Grace Squires and Kalea Woodard, Emma Tallman and Roxanne Snyder, and Fredrikke Foss and Kaili Yap.
Charleston is set to race against Tulane, Jacksonville, USF, Stanford and US Coast Guard Academy three times each.
Meanwhile down in Florida at the Mendelblatt Team Race, Charleston looks to repeat as champions after edging out Miami via tiebreak with an 8-2 record, 4-1 across rounds one and two. Charleston will have a rotation of Axel Stordahl and Noelle Owen, Brandon Geller and Lucy Klempen, and Jack Howard and Anna Sherry.
Charleston is set to race against Miami, NC State, Rollins, Clemson, Eckerd, Jacksonville, Embry-Riddle, Florida State and USF twice.
