CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston beach volleyball split their two matches at the Duuuval Duals Saturday collecting their first Sun Belt win in the finale by a 5-0 score over Mercer.

How It Happened

Charleston battled into third sets at the top two flights but fell 5-0 to the host North Florida Saturday morning.
The Cougars bounced back with a sweep of their own, this one a 5-0 victory over Sun Belt foe Mercer.
Charleston fought through three set matches on courts one, two, three and five erasing 1-0 deficits on two, three and five for the win.
Ella Reames and Tynley Smeltzer got the afternoon going with a 21-18, 21-19 sweep on four before Alli Grant Avery and Elizabeth Curry added a 15-21, 21-18, 16-14 comeback win.
Emma Falk and Kora Hansen clinched the Cougar win with a 16-21, 21-14, 15-8 win on three before Kyra Thompson and Gabi Bailey then Sofie Vogel and Maria Zweig finished off the Charleston sweep.
