
Charleston Closes Regular Season at Palmetto Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston beach volleyball concludes their 2023 regular season this weekend as they head to Columbia for the Palmetto Invitational hosted by South Carolina.
Charleston has a chance to reach the 20-win plateau for a second-straight season and third time in program history entering the weekend 18-7 overall and 6-3 in Sun Belt play. The Cougars have won 15 of their last 17 matches including a 3-1 stay at the Coastal Carolina Invitational last weekend.
Four pairs have at least 10 wins this season for the Cougars led by Gabi Bailey and Kyra Thompson's 15 wins at the first court. Ella Reames and Maria Zweig have posted a 14-1 record, Emma Falk and Kora Hansen have 14 wins and Tynley Smeltzer and Sofie Vogel have 12 wins.
Reames and Smeltzer have won 11-straight matches on the second court for Charleston. As a team, the Cougars have at least 13 wins on each of the first four courts and an impressive 20-5 mark on four.
Reames leads all individuals with 21 wins on the season while Smeltzer (19), Zweig (19), Vogel (17) and Thompson (16) can all join her in the 20-win company with strong performances again in Columbia.
