
Charleston Posts Two More 3-2 Wins Sunday

WILMINGTON, N.C. – College of Charleston beach volleyball has gotten a knack for coming through in the clutch as they secured their third and fourth 3-2 wins of the weekend Sunday at the UNCW Invitational.
Charleston (15-6) downed both Jacksonville and UNCW 3-2 in every match they played in Wilmington and pushed their win streak to a season-best seven. The Cougars have now won at least seven-straight matches in back-to-back seasons and three times in program history.

How It Happened
The Cougars head to Myrtle Beach for a Friday and Saturday invitational hosted by rival Coastal Carolina. Charleston battles the host Chanticleers and Erskine Friday then take on Southeastern Louisiana and Tampa Saturday.

How It Happened
- Charleston got on the board first with wins on four and five for a 2-0 lead. Alli Grant Avery and Elizabeth Curry took a three-set win at five then Emma Falk and Kora Hansen delivered a sweep in four.
- Jacksonville got one point back on three but Ella Reames and Maria Zweig clinched the dual win for the Cougars with a sweep on two.
- Charleston got wins on courts one, two and four via sweeps, and came close before falling in three sets on both three and five.

- Sunday's two wins give Charleston seven-straight dating back to the Beach Blast last weekend. The seven-straight wins are the second-most in a row in program history tying last season's seven match streak.
- Charleston moved to 3-1 on the season against UNCW and evened their series with Jacksonville. Sunday's win was also the 15th all-time against the Seahawks.
- The Cougars also reached 15 wins on the season, the fourth time in program history to eclipse that mark and second-straight season.
- Gabi Bailey and Kyra Thompson end the weekend 12-6 at the top court and sit just one win shy of tying the program record for career pair wins (36). Ella Reames and Maria Zweig also moved into a tie for third all-time with 25 wins as a pair.
