Cougars Push Past Lumberjacks 3-2

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – College of Charleston outlasted Stephen F. Austin Friday afternoon slipping past the No. 8 seed Lumberjacks 3-2 to stave-off elimination and advance in the Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championships.
Already the winningest duo in program history, Gabi Bailey and Kyra Thompson delivered an epic three-set win on the top court to break a 2-2 tie and push the Cougars over the top. Not only did the senior duo need a third set, they played all the way to 23-21 in that decisive set for the win.
Charleston struck first a two-set win on two from Emma Falk and Kora Hansen and got a match-tying three-set win from Tynley Smeltzer and Sofie Vogel to set the stage for Bailey and Thompson.
