Track and Field Team Competes Friday and Saturday at Duke Invitational

Charleston, S.C. – The College of Charleston track and field team travels to Durham, N.C., for the Duke Invitational at Morris Williams Stadium. The two-day event begins Friday.
Kaitlynn Bailey and Alicia Wilson will look to continue their solid springs in the sprints. Bailey has twice run a 12.19 in the 100 and holds the school record, and Wilson moved into a tie for sixth at 12.45. Emily Kreek, who is eighth in the 100 hurdles (15.46), is entered in that event along with the shot put.
The mid-distances are highlighted by Rhian Purves and Emily Dorony. Purves set a PR in the 1500 with a mark of 4:32.75 at the Raleigh Relays two weeks ago and is third in school history. Purves is also third in the 800 (2:14.13) and Dorony is sixth (2:16.07) in the 800.
Cayden Crismon cracked the record book at No. 8 in the 3000 at the Weems Baskin Relays (10:20.62) and is entered in the 5000 this week.
Pole vault standout Luzy Lieger will look to build on her PR at Weems Baskin when she broke her own school record (4.15m, 13'7 ¼").
