
Charleston Sailing Places Fourth at SAISA Fleet Race

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – College of Charleston sailing finished fourth at the SAISA Fleet Race to close out their weekend in the Sunshine State with 87 points.
Charleston posted 19 points over their six races Saturday to open the competition sitting in third place with all of Sunday in front of them. The Cougars would finished T-3rd with Florida State at the end of action Sunday with 87 points but lost a tiebreak to the Seminoles for the fourth-place finish.
The Cougars were one of just four teams to stay under 100 total points in the two-day event joining ACC schools NC State (52), Miami (68) and Florida State (87).
Charleston was led by a crew of Axel Stordahl, Noah Zittrer, Brandon Geller, Jack Howard, Garrett Grenauer, Lucy Klempen, Noelle Owen and Anna Sherry.
The Cougars are back in action next weekend as the women's team looks to claim SAISA trophies in the Open and Fleet Races on home waters. Charleston also sends a crew to the US Coast Guard for the Thompson Open.
