PHILADELPHIA – Drexel scored the only goal of the game in the sixth minute to hand College of Charleston a 1-0 defeat on Thursday in Philadelphia.
The Cougars dropped to 2-3-1 in CAA play despite limiting the high-scoring Dragons (5-5-2, 1-3-2 CAA) to only 10 shots and just four on target.
Katie Carrino, a late addition to the lineup, made three saves to keep Charleston in the game.
The Cougars were held without a shot in the first half but got its offense going after intermission with five attempts including two off the bench from
Shea Vidovic. Vidovic,
Bella Antonio and
Grace Powell each had shots on goal.
Charleston continues its three-game road swing on Sunday with a 1 p.m. match at Delaware.
