Cougars Look for Third Straight Win at Edisto

EDISTO ISLAND, S.C.- The College of Charleston women's golf team is set to host The Edisto Island Invitational on October 14-15 at the Plantation Course. The course is par 70, with 36 holes on Monday and finishing with 18 on Tuesday.
The College hosts The Citadel, University of South Alabama, UNC Asheville, Northern Arizona University, Appalachian State University, Elon, Georgia State, Radford, William and Mary, Missouri State, Towson, Jacksonville, ETSU, Longwood University, Stetson, and Rollins College.
The Cougars are coming off a winning performance at the Evie Odom Invitational, their second straight tournament win after securing the Tot Hill Farm Invitational title the week prior. The team turned in a 5-under final round to cruise to a 17-shot victory. The win was the largest team margin in the history of the tournament.
Emma Schimpf earned medalist honors at Evie Odom with a 10-under tournament (68, 66, 66). The senior from Daniel Island set a new Charleston record by winning for the sixth time in her career and was named CAA Golfer of the Week for her efforts.
This year marks the fourth annual edition of the Edisto Island Invitational. Charleston won the tournament championship in 2021 and 2023. Last season, the Cougars won by four strokes (+6) over runner-up Georgia Southern.
