Cougars Conclude Fall in Bahamas

PARADISE ISLAND - The College of Charleston women's golf team returns to action this weekend as they set sail for the White Sands Bahamas NCAA Women's Invitational hosted Texas A&M. The 54-hole tournament kicks off on October 18, with 18 holes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Charleston joins Abilene Christian, #24 Baylor, Coastal Carolina, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, Purdue, Xavier, and #15 Texas A&M in the Bahamas.
The Cougars are coming off an exciting victory at the Edisto Island Invitational, marking their third consecutive team title. The win moved head coach Jamie Futrell to seventh in most wins among active NCAA Division I women's golf coaches and 21st all-time.
After battling winds during the open two rounds at Edisto, the Cougars led the field in par 4 scoring (4.12), par 5 scoring (4.93), and total birdies (42). Charleston also finished with three athletes in the top ten with Emma Schimpf at T2 (-2), Molly Hardwick in fourth (+1), and Adrian Anderson in eighth (+6). Anderson posted the top score for Charleston in the second round with a 65.
Schimpf was named CAA Golfer of the Week for her efforts, her third time earning the honor this time and 11th overall.
The tournament will mark Raegan Propes first time in the lineup this season after returning from injury.
The Ocean Club Golf Course, designed by Tom Weiskopf, is 6,415 yards with par 72. The tournament will tee off at 8:00 am est each morning. Live updates can be found on all channels @WhiteSandsBah.
