CONWAY, S.C. – College of Charleston lost to Coastal Carolina in four sets (15-25, 16-25, 25-22 and 13-25) Tuesday evening in the HTC Center.

Anna Smith recorded nine kills in the setback while the Cougars tallied nine blocks as a team.

CofC is 17-8 on the season while Coastal snaps its four-match losing streak to improve to 9-13.

WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED:

Leading 15-12 in the fourth set, Coastal Carolina recorded 10 of the final 11 points in the frame to win the deciding set.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST COASTAL CAROLINA:

Charleston had five players tally five-plus kills.
The Cougars recorded nine blocks, with Caitlyn Callahan, Cailyn Bolser and Lauren Fowler each having three.
Hannah Scott dished out a game-high 30 assists.

OF NOTE:

Charleston is 27-15 overall against Coastal Carolina.
The Cougars 264.5 blocks are the most in a season since 2017.
Fowler's three blocks were a career high. The redshirt sophomore entered the match with two career blocks.
Tynley Smeltzer passed Jennifer Rodriguez for eighth all-time in program history with 1,428 career digs.
Scott has 30-or-more assists 16 matches.
