Krywulycz Adds Two on National Signing Day

CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston head men's golf coach Mitch Krywulycz has announced the signing of Michael Gavin and Marno Lange on National Signing Day.
Gavin and Lange will join the current CAA Champion Cougars in the fall of the 2025.
Gavin, a Hilton Head Island native, is a two-time state champion and grew up will a passion for the Holy City.
"Michael was the first player we committed in this class. He is a strong student and beloved teammate. His trajectory thru junior golf was clear when we looked at his work ethic and personality," said Krywulycz. "Michael is now the #1 ranked player in South Carolina according to AJGA and that's due to his love for competing. Michael will be a tremendous culture addition for our team. We are excited to welcome Michael and his entire family to Charleston."
In addition to being the top ranked player in the state, Gavin was in the 2024 4 AJGA Top 10's, a 2024 Rolex Scholastic Junior All American, 2024 SCISA Junior Player of The Year, 2023 Member of Team South Carolina, 2023 SCJGA Junior Championship Runner-Up, and 2022 SCJGA Players Series Champion.
"I grew up near by and would visit often. It has felt like a second home town each time I visit," said Gavin. "The coaches and players on the team are a big reason why I chose CofC as well. Spending four years in the city is a dream not many get to experience and I can't wait for it."
Lange follows current Cougar Kieron van Wyk from South Africa to Charleston.
"Marno's love for his team and golf development will be on display from day one. Marno has often represented South Africa in junior events with great success," said Krywulycz. "Knowing Marno's drive, we are certain our difficult strength of schedule will push him to even greater heights. We are thrilled to have him in Charleston this August."
Lange has represented South Africa with the GolfRSA Men's National Amateur squad since he was 13 years old. He was the South African 2023 Under 17 Stroke Play Champion and also won the Bushveld Tour Event #10 last October. Additionally, he has captained the Junior Interprovincial Under 19 team since 2022.
"We visited the College and found the coaches to be very experienced, great core values and much preferred coaching style that I know will help me develop into a better golfer and person," said Lange.
