
Men's Basketball Travels to Rhode Island

KINGSTON, RI - The College of Charleston men's basketball team, now 4-1 on the season, travels to Kingston, Rhode Island Sunday to take on the Rhode Island Rams. Action is set for 12:00 p.m.

STORYLINES
- Charleston is coming off a 76-61 victory over crosstown rival The Citadel on Wednesday night. Four Cougars finished with double digits points as the Cougars earned their 13th consecutive victory over the Bulldogs.
- The big man duo of Ante Brzovic and Lazar Djokovic led the way with two twenty-point performances. Brzovic recorded 22 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists going 10-12 from the field while Djokovic had a career-high 20 points and five rebounds, going 8-10 from the field.
- Brzovic was a part of the last Charleston duo to score 20 points in the same game when the Croatian and Ben Burnham each recorded 20 points in an 80 -62 win over Elon on January 11, 2024.
- The CAA Preseason Player of the Year, Brzovic currently leads the nation in made field goals (52), ranks seventh in total points (132), third in points per game (26.4), six in total rebounds (52), and third in defensive rebound per game (9.20). He was named to the Lou Henson Award 'Early Season' Watch List for the top player in mid-major basketball.
- Charleston defeated Rhode Island 85-70 a season ago in Charleston. CJ Fulton recorded a career-high six steals to go with five assists. Brzovic, Evan Kilminster, Jack Miller and Adam Comer all saw the floor in the contest while the Rams return three players that saw action in the contest in Jaden House, Always Wright and Cam Estevez.
- Rhode Island holds the 3-2 all-time series edge. This will be the Cougars first trip to Kingston since December 16, 2017.
- Rhode Island enters the contest undefeated at 4-0 with wins over Fairfield, Holy Cross, Frankin Pierce, and Layfayette.
- Sebastian Thomas led the Rams in Wednesday's win over Lafayette with 23 points, nine assists, four rebounds and three steals. He currently ranks seventh in the country with an 8.33-1 assist-to-turnover ratio and is sixth nationally with 8.33 assists per game. Charleston's CJ Fulton, the 2x NCAA assist/turnover ratio statistical champion, is 23rd nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (5.75-1) and 42nd in assists per game (5.8).
- House paces in Rams with 17.5 points per game, followed by Thomas with 17.0 and David Green with 16.8.
