TOWSON, Md. – No. 1 College of Charleston beat No. 2 Delaware in five sets (25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 17-25 and 15-3), earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Charleston won its second CAA Championship and first since 2013.

Emily Banitt had 20 kills and 11 digs while
Hannah Scott tallied 42 and 18 digs.

Scott and
Deanna Dollar were named to the CAA All-Tournament team while
Allie Holland was named Most Outstanding Player.

WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED:
- Charleston jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the deciding set and had six total blocks in the frame to win the match.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST DELAWARE:
- Charleston had five different players with double-digit digs, paced by Scott's 18.
- Holland and Dollar paced the blocking with seven and five blocks, respectively.
- The Cougars held Delaware to just three points in the final frame.
- Caitlyn Callahan recorded 13 kills while Dollar added nine for CofC.
- Charleston held an opponent below a .170 hitting pct. for the 19th contest this season.

- Charleston improves to 16-9 against Delaware overall and earned its first victory in the CAA Championship over the Blue Hens.
- Charleston captured its ninth conference championship and will play in the NCAA Tournament for the tenth time.
- The Cougars' first block of the match set a single season program record, which now sits at 335.0
- Charleston tallied 12 blocks in the win, its 16th match with 10-plus blocks.
