Track and Field Returns to Columbia for USC Indoor Open

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston track and field team travels back to Columbia, S.C., on Saturday to compete in the USC Indoor Open.
The Cougars will look to keep their successes going from two weeks ago when they enjoyed a school record breaking day. The day was highlighted by Kaitlynn Bailey setting the top marks in the 60 and 200 with times of 7.69 and 25.53, respectively.
Charleston also clinched two event wins with Rhian Purves in the mile in 4.54.68, moving her up to second in the record book, and Sophia Brown finishing first in the 5000 in 17:47.15 to place her fifth in Cougar annals.
Madison Jent continued her outstanding freshman season by moving into second place in the in-door pole vault, clearing 3.75m (12 feet, 3 ½ inches).
This will be the fourth and final time the Cougars will be traveling to Columbia during the indoor season before they head to New York City next week for the CAA Championships.
