
High Energy Cougars Cruise Past Delaware

NEWARK, Del. – The College of Charleston men's basketball team cruised to their 21st win of the season, a 90-71 victory at Delaware. The Cougars remain in sole possession of first place in the CAA.
Charleston used a 7-0 run with buckets from Jordan Crawford, Kobe Rodgers and Ben Burnham to open a 17-14 lead halfway through the opening frame.
The teams played point-for-point, backed by hustle plays from Bryce Butler and Frankie Policelli on 50/50 balls and Burnham crashing on the defensive glass.
A Khalil London three-pointer pushed Charleston to a 38-32 edge, the Cougars largest lead of the game with just under two minutes to play, before another triple from Reyne Smith at the buzzer gave Charleston a 43-36 edge entering the locker room.
Ante Brzovic led the Cougars with 11 points in the half, going 5-for-6 from the field while Smith was a perfect 3-for-3 from the field with only one bucket from behind the arc. Charleston shot 55% from the field compared to the Blue Hens 42% in the half.
Policelli opened the second half with a triple to set up a hot-shooting half for Charleston. A Butler three gave the Cougars their largest lead of the game at 55-41 and the Cougars never looked back.

- James Scott posted 13 points wtih four blocks followed by Brzovic and Burnham with 11 to round out the Charleston double-figure scorers.

- The Cougars shot 51% on the game, their fourth game over 50% from the field this season.

- Charleston, now 21-7 and 12-3 in conference play, will travel to Maryland to take on the Towson Tigers Saturday afternoon. Action is set for 12:00 p.m. at TU Arena.
